There have been 440 new coronavirus cases recorded in the Hywel Dda health board area according to today’s figures, (Friday, October 1).

The latest Public Health Wales (PHW) data shows there were 219 new cases in Carmarthenshire, 175 in Pembrokeshire and 46 in Ceredigion since the last report.

The total number of cases across the three counties now stands at 30,979 – 18,968 in Carmarthenshire, 7,834 in Pembrokeshire and 4,177 in Ceredigion.

There have been two new Covid-related deaths recorded in the Hywel Dda area since the last report, with the total standing at 515 throughout the pandemic.

In total 3,009 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across Wales today bringing the national total to 358,550 cases.

There have been 32,644 tests done across the country since the last report.

There were five new Covid-related deaths reported with the total across Wales now standing at 5,897 deaths.

Across Wales, 2,376,708 have received a first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and 2,223,545 are fully vaccinated.

Hywel Dda health board is no longer providing vaccination data for the three counties.
