Leanne Holder from Narberth has reacted to her victory at the Chwarae Teg Womenspire Awards, winning in the 'Entrepreneur' category.

Leanne was named as Entrepreneur of the Year, having set up BecauseRaceCarBox, a subscription box for car cleaning enthusiasts.

She set up the business with her partner four years ago, wanting to encourage women into cleaning their cars and to move away from male stereotypes.

Leanne launched the ‘Pink Detailing Collection’, and despite the pandemic, the business has grown, with distributors now in France and Belgium.

Being a woman in the automotive industry, she is driven on to support female entrepreneurs and inspire them into male-dominated industries.

Reacting to her victory, Leanne said: "The award night was amazing. It was done virtually and broadcast across the ITV Wales' social media channels, and they did a fantastic job to make it a memorable event for all finalists and the public watching.

"Having become a finalist, I was so excited as being recognised for the work I do, I never expected to win! When they called out my name, I was extremely shocked and so proud of myself.

"I’ve faced a lot of adversity being a woman in the automotive industry and I hope I can inspire other ladies to step into this male-dominated world and be confident in their abilities along the way.

"My family were tuned in live to watch the awards and having their support throughout my entrepreneurial journey has been paramount to my success.

"I’ll certainly be celebrating my win with all my loved ones soon and equally celebrating the amazing women in Wales that have stood tall in their work and fly the flag for equality also."
