There have been 273 new coronavirus recorded in the Hywel Dda health board area according to today’s figures, (Tuesday, October 5).

The latest Public Health Wales (PHW) data shows there were 156 new cases in Carmarthenshire, 98 in Pembrokeshire and 19 in Ceredigion since the last report.

The total number of cases across the three counties now stands at 32,040 – 19,536 in Carmarthenshire, 8,227 in Pembrokeshire and 4,277 in Ceredigion.

There have been no new Covid-related deaths recorded in the Hywel Dda area since the last report, with the total standing at 523 throughout the pandemic.

In total 1,758 new cases of coronavirus and two new Covid-related deaths have been reported across Wales bringing the national total to 366,624 cases and 5,926 deaths.

There have been 19,626 tests done across the country since the last report.

Across Wales 2,385,134 people have had their first dose of covid-19 vaccine and 2,226,140 have had their second dose and are fully vaccinated.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is no longer updating its vaccination reports with invitations for third ‘booster’ doses now going out to residents across the three counties in priority order.
