There have been 274 new coronavirus recorded in the Hywel Dda health board area according to today’s figures, (Wednesday, October 6).

The latest Public Health Wales (PHW) data shows there were 160 new cases in Carmarthenshire, 86 in Pembrokeshire and 28 in Ceredigion since the last report.

The total number of cases across the three counties now stands at 32,314 – 19,696 in Carmarthenshire, 8,313 in Pembrokeshire and 4,305 in Ceredigion.

There have been three new Covid-related deaths recorded in the Hywel Dda area since the last report, with the total standing at 526 throughout the pandemic.

In total 2,007 new cases of coronavirus and eight new Covid-related deaths have been reported across Wales bringing the national total to 368,629 cases and 5,934 deaths.

There have been 18,414 tests done across the country since the last report.

Across Wales 2,385,622 people have had their first dose of covid-19 vaccine and 2,226,708 have had their second dose and are fully vaccinated.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is no longer updating its vaccination reports with invitations for third ‘booster’ doses now going out to residents across the three counties in priority order.
