Stealing £250 of copper wire from Milford Haven Port Authority has cost a Pembrokeshire man more than double its value.
Paul Wilcox of Nelson Quay, Milford Haven, appeared in front of magistrates in Haverfordwest on September 28.
He admitted two counts of theft- other-including theft by finding, relating to copper wire from Milford Haven Port Authority.
The first offence was of wire valued at £200 and took place on June 25 this year.
Wilcox stole more wire on July 23 this year. This time with a value of £50.
The 43-year-old was fined £80 for the first offence and ordered to pay compensation of £250, a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and costs of £85.
He was fined a further £80 for the July offence.
Magistrates took Wilcox’s guilty plea into account when imposing sentence.
Wilcox has until October 26 to pay the total balance of £529.00.
