Failure to blow into a breathalyser has cost a Milford Haven man his driving licence and nearly £600.

Darren Edmundson of Howarth Close committed the offence in Milford Haven on August 13, magistrates in Haverfordwest heard on Wednesday October 13.

Edmundson appeared in court to plead guilty to failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis when suspected of having driven a vehicle. He changed his plea on the day from not guilty.

In addition to a 17-month driving ban, he was ordered to pay costs of £500 to the Crown Prosecution Service and a surcharge of £95.

Edmundson committed the offence in breach of a community order made by Haverfordwest Magistrates' Court in November 2019 for assaulting a police officer, damaging a taxi radio set, making off from a taxi without paying and stealing a mobile phone.

Wednesday's court made him the subject of a new community order with a requirement for rehabilitation activity and 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.
