There have been 299 new coronavirus cases recorded in the Hywel Dda Health Board area according to the latest figures today (Sunday, October 17).

The latest data shows there were 142 new cases in Carmarthenshire, 127 in Pembrokeshire and 30 in Ceredigion since the last report.

The total number of cases across the three counties now stands at 35,653 – 21,419 in Carmarthenshire, 9,529 in Pembrokeshire and 4,705 in Ceredigion.

There was one new Covid-related death recorded in the Hywel Dda area since the last report, with the total standing at 535 throughout the pandemic.

In total 2,965 new cases of coronavirus and 10 new Covid-related deaths have been reported across Wales, bringing the national total to 395,247 cases and 6,015 deaths.

There have been 23,634 tests done across the country since the last report.

Across Wales 2,405,335 people have had their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and 2,233,773 have had their second dose and are fully vaccinated.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is no longer updating its vaccination reports with invitations for third ‘booster’ doses now going out to residents across the three counties in priority order.
