CORONAVIRUS cases have increased by more than 2,300 in a week in the three counties of the Hywel Dda University Health Board.

Based on the most recent Monday, October 18, figures, cases increased by 2,314 in Hywel Dda from Monday, October 11, up to 36,387.

Pembrokeshire increased by 962, to 9,862; Carmarthenshire by 1,113, to 21,736; and Ceredigion by 239, to 4,789.

The period also saw an additional eight deaths in the three counties, up to 539 throughout the pandemic.

The previous week saw an extra 2,306 cases in the three counties in a week; Pembrokeshire increased by 771, to 8,900; Carmarthenshire by 1,243, to 20,623; and Ceredigion by 292, to 4,550.

The period also saw an additional eight deaths in the three counties, up to 531 throughout the pandemic.

The previous week to that saw an increase of nearly 2,800 cases in the three counties in seven days.

Based on Monday, October 4, figures, cases increased by 2,742 in Hywel Dda from Monday, September 27, up to 31,767.

Pembrokeshire increased by 850, to 8,129; Carmarthenshire by 1,530, to 19,380; and Ceredigion by 362, to 4,258.

The period also saw an additional 12 deaths in the three counties, up to 523 throughout the pandemic.

The previous Monday to that saw 1,250 new cases in a week, with 17,850 in Carmarthenshire to that date, 7,279 in Pembrokeshire and 3,896 in Ceredigion; a rise of 332 cases in Pembrokeshire, 200 in Ceredigion and 718 in Carmarthenshire.

There were six new Covid-related deaths recorded in the three counties from the previous Monday.

The previous seven days had seen cases increase by 1,920 in Hywel Dda from Monday, September 13, up to 27,775.

Pembrokeshire increased by 429, to 6,947; Carmarthenshire by 1,212, to 17,132; and Ceredigion by 279, to 3,696.

The period also saw an additional five deaths in the three counties, up to 505 throughout the pandemic.

The previous week saw an additional 2,147 cases in Hywel Dda from September 6-13.

Pembrokeshire increased by 456, to 6,518; Carmarthenshire by 1,350, to 15,920; and Ceredigion by 341, to 3,417.

The period also saw an additional five deaths in the three counties, up to 500 throughout the pandemic.
