A MAN has died following an alleged altercation outside a pub in Aberdare on Sunday.

South Wales Police were called to the Colliers Arms, Penywaun, Aberdare, just after 1.10am on Sunday, October 17.

The man who died, a 21-year-old from Cwmdare, Aberdare, was taken to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, but his injuries were too severe.

A 24-year-old man from Penywaun, Aberdare has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.

South Wales Police are appealing for anyone who saw the incident or managed to capture footage of it to come forward as soon as possible.
