The committee of Christmas Together is extremely hopeful that the event, which allows people in Pembrokeshire to not spend Christmas alone, will go ahead this year.

This year, risk assessments and further measures are being taken to ensure the event can go ahead while being Covid-safe. It is hoped a the event will be formally launched by November 13.

Those who attended in 2019 will be written to, and those who will be alone on Christmas Day will be invited to also get in touch.

Covid-19 measures will be in place, including wearing face masks and the requirement to be fully vaccinated.

There will also be a responsibility for all those not to attend if exhibiting any Covid-19 symptoms, or have been in contact with anyone who may be suffering.

It is also advised for a lateral flow test to be taken immediately before attending on Christmas Day.

Cllr Woodham concluded by stating: "We very much hope that Christmas Together can go ahead this year and we will do everything we can to make the event as safe as possible.

"Of course, if transmission numbers continue to increase then we may be forced to cancel the event but we very much hope that this will not be the case as we know Christmas Day can be the loneliest day of the year for some and we want to provide this much needed championship that has been denied to so many for too long due to the current pandemic."
