Sarah Harding, owner of the Belle Vue, said it was amazing to win.

"We only took it over in January 2019 and we have turned it round basically.

"We put it back into a pub restaurant. We have a pool table, we have sky, we have good food, it is home run and friendly. I live here so it is not just a business it is my home."

Regular at the Belle Vue Gayle Edwards said when she found out who was taking over the pub she knew it was going to be good.

"The owners are lovely people. They’re just really good people doing what they do best. They know what it is to run a pub and they know the people who walk through the door which is a nice thing."

The Royal Oak in Fishguard came second with boss Daniel Morgan saying it’s a pub that offers no gimmicks.

"The pub's central and a big part of the whole town. It’s true to its roots and a classic pub. I’m really happy and proud of the team and it’s really nice to be recognised and appreciated by the community. Thank you to everyone who voted."

The First and Last in Pembroke Dock came third.

Boss Richard Maynard was on holiday but assistant manager Wendy Butland was there to speak on his behalf. Wendy said everyone was delighted.

“We were wondering because we were looking for it in the paper to see if there was anything about it.

“We are thrilled. We have lovely customers and it really means a lot that people voted. A big thank you to everyone who voted.”
