An evening of Baroque music performed by internationally acclaimed musicians is set to take place at Newton House, Dinefwr in Llandeilo on the evening of Saturday 28 May,.

The grand dining room will be filled with song as Elizabeth Kenny, Reiko Ichise and Mhairi Lawson perform a specially selected musical programme of the lute, viol, and voice, chosen from the same period of time from which the plasterers were moulding the original 350-year-old ceiling in the house.

The event is inspired by the architecture of the 17th-century house, cared for by National Trust Cymru.

Kathryn Campbell, National Trust Cymru Programming and Partnerships Officer at Dinefwr said: “We are delighted to bring this amazing ensemble of musicians to Dinefwr to celebrate the period in which our ornate ceilings were first installed in Newton House.

“Set against the historic architecture of Newton House, it will be a feast for the senses of extraordinary music, local produce, beautiful flowers, and visual delights.

We look forward to welcoming musicians of such high international standing to Llandeilo, for an unforgettable evening, which is not to missed by enthusiasts and musical newcomers alike”.

Tickets to the event are priced at £25 which includes drinks and canapes provided by a local food company, Swperbox. The Canapes served will correspond with the themes of the evening.

The performance will begin at 7:30 pm.
