WARRINGTON Wolves have confirmed the extent of the horrific injury suffered by youngster Leon Hayes on Saturday.
As expected, the scrum-half is set to miss the remainder of the season having sustained a fracture dislocation ankle during the Round Nine defeat to Salford Red Devils.
He will undergo surgery this week and while The Wire stopped short of confirming he would not play again this season, his recovery time of approximately six months takes him beyond what would be the final game.
It is a bitter blow for the 20-year-old, who had established himself in the first team having played in all but one of The Wire's 11 matches in 2024.
"Leon is in good spirits and appreciative of all the messages of support since Saturday," the club said in an update on Hayes' condition.
"He has the full support of the club in every step of his recovery."
