There are hopes of smaller queues and fewer crashes in the vicinity of a Pembrokeshire junction, with the advent of permanent traffic lights.
The lights at the Nash Fingerpost junction on the A477 near Pembroke came into action on Wednesday, August 14.
Traffic Wales finished this stage of the work a month earlier than forecast, but contractors will be back on site next month.
A spokesperson for Traffic Wales said: "The permanent lights are now operational and traffic management has been removed to help with congestion over the summer period.
"The outstanding works will be completed in September. This will require the reintroduction of traffic management, but only during off peak hours i.e. 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.”
A stretch of the road approaching the lights was closed for more than an hour following a two-vehicle crash late on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash took place around a mile away from the junction, at Scourfields Cross.
Work to install traffic lights at the Junction began in May.
The junction has seen three fatal incidents in 12 years as well as other serious crashes.
A petition set up after Ashley’s death demanding action at the junction attracted more than 10,000 signatures in just over a month.
