A vast selection of horticulture, cookery, craft and photography awaits those entering the Parkhouse Exhibition Centre at this year’s monumental county show.

The horticultural and cookery section is well established as an important part of the County Show and as the show celebrates 50 years at Withybush showground, this section is expected to generate the usual high level of interest and participation from all ages.

With everything from pot plants to 'the heaviest onion' and home brewed beer, there's something for everyone to enjoy at the exhibition. A children's section also allows youngsters to have a go at some exciting challenges, such as the traditional cakes and tarts, a miniature farmyard and a 'weird animal made from vegetables and/ or fruit'.

As well as cash prizes, there are a number of cups and rosettes to be presented for outstanding exhibits in various sections.

Elsewhere in the Parkhouse Exhibition Centre, Pembrokeshire's finest craft makers will come into their own.

Exhibitors will be proudly displaying the result of weeks or months of spent perfecting their art, whether it be in woodwork, metalwork, walking stick or handicrafts- such as quilting, crochet and tapestry.

There are a number of craft classes for children, including classes for decorated items such as pebbles and horseshoes, shell figures and scarecrows, and the Western Telegraph painting and collage section.

The Parkhouse Exhibition Centre (Zone A) will be closed on the first morning until about 1.30pm while judging takes place (from 10am).
