A West Wales business consultancy says its decision to bring together some of the region's leading support businesses at the Pembrokeshire County Show is a vote of confidence in the local economy.

The Landsker Business Zone will feature 40 businesses and organisations under one roof - compared to 12 exhibitors who showcased there last year.

The Whitland-based Landsker Business Consultancy, which is leading this initiative, says the number of businesses that had committed to this "business showcase" demonstrates the firm belief economic activity remains strong west of Swansea.

"We are busier than ever and that is also the case with our strategic partners and some clients who will be joining us in the Landsker Business Zone,'' says Jeremy Bowen-Rees, who heads the Landsker Business Consultancy.

"The business birthrate in Pembrokeshire is still reasonably good. People are making quality of life judgments and what we are noticing is that people who were born and brought up in the area are returning younger to set up businesses. Instead of returning when they are in their 30s and have a family they are coming back in their mid-20s. Furthermore, other established businesses are diversifying and creating new ventures."'

Businesses such as accountancy firm, Ashmole and Co. architects, Acanthus Holden, solicitors Lowless & Lowless and Mid and West Wales Chamber will be joined by other exhibitors including Finance Wales, Pembrokeshire Lottery, Menter a Busnes, CADW and Pembrokeshire Tourism Association.

"We view the marquee as a one-stop shop for people who have businesses that are up and running or those who are planning to establish a business. They can pop in to have a chat and to network and receive brief, focused advice. Whatever the enquiry we hope that someone within the zone would be able to help",'' says Mr Bowen-Rees.

"This is a team approach. Although Landsker is in a position to do a lot for businesses we invariably engage with other businesses and agencies for specific support and these will be represented in the Landsker Business Zone.''

Complimentary teas and coffees will be served by Upper Crust. The Landsker Business Zone can be found in Band Avenue.
