Saundersfoot Sports 1 Pennar Robins 2

Saundersfoot Sports are still searching for their first win of the season after going down to yet another league defeat at the hands of visiting Pennar Robins. The home side, who along with Prendergast Villa made the leap up from Division Two last year have so far struggled to come to terms with Division One football although that might change soon, after they showed more creativity than in games gone by.

However, it is their defence which seems to be letting them down as sloppy goals still seem to creep into the back of the net, a fact highlighted by manager Phil Jones:

'We've played eight and lost seven, the league doesn't lie. We're creating chances but not putting them away and keep letting sloppy goals in, it's not good enough.'

Saundersfoot started this game well by creating a bit up front and having one on one chances but they didn't take them and neither did Pennar's Wayne Brunton, who had his shot well saved and the game was scoreless at the break.

After the break however and it all changed as Pennar took the lead with a score by Brunton and then extended it soon after when Marcus Lyons, on as a substitute for Dennis Cresswell, shot from a re-bound and it was parried in.

The Sports did reply with a goal of their own when Steve Ruff rounded the keeper to score when the defence were left confused but it was too little too late and the visitors walked away with the spoils.
