MRS A. MYCOCK Formerly of Hodgeston The death occurred on February 18th, at Withybush Hospital, of Mrs Agnes Mycock, of Pembroke Haven Residential Home and formerly of Millers Rest, Hodgeston. She was 91 and had been in hospital for three weeks. Mrs Mycock was a native of Buxton, Derbyshire and after leaving school had entered domestic service working for various employers in the Peak District and the Isle of Wight, developing strong bonds with the families for whom she worked. She is fondly remembered by them. Agnes also worked for many years for Derbyshire County Council, retiring in 1979. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She was a member of Pembroke Darby and Joan Club and the Tenby and Pembroke Visually Impaired Groups. She married Eddie in 1933. He predeceased her in 1989. She leaves to mourn Joan and Brian Lloyd (daughter and son-in-law). The funeral took place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, on February 24th, with Rev Anthony Gregory officiating. The bearers were Brian Lloyd, Ken Lloyd, John Dooner. Principal mourners were Joan and Brian Lloyd, Ken and Jacqui Lloyd, Lynne Walker, Malcolm and Jennifer Griffiths, Bill and Valerie Adams, Ariel and Dennis Smith, John Dooner, Chris James (representing Pembroke Haven residents and staff), Gail Powell and Natalie Peaks (Homecare), Maureen Davies (Pembrokeshire Blind Society), Ann and Roy Cole, Brenda and Gordon Osbourne, Ann Pullen, Maggie Patel, Midge Main. There were family flowers only, with donations in lieu for Pembrokeshire Blind Society, c/o Mr Graham Thomas, 34 Charles Thomas Avenue, Pembroke Dock. The funeral arrangements were carried out by E. C. Thomas and Son, 31 Stockwell Road, Pembroke Dock.

MR J. T. REES PEMBROKE DOCK Mr John Rees died at his home on Sunday, February 19th. John, one of six children, was born in Pembroke Dock on March 16th, 1930. Together with his family he was a devoted member of Wesley Methodist chapel, Meyrick Street, Pembroke Dock, where his mother played the organ. On leaving school, John went to work in his father's coal business. During his National Service, he served with the REME in the Highlands of Scotland. On his return home he met Brenda and they married in 1953. John later began his own business which, over the years, included coal delivery and road haulage. Following his retirement, he kept up his interest with the REME Association. He also enjoyed old-time dancing and gardening. He took a keen interest in all things to do with his locality and had a wealth of knowledge of local history and local personalities. Over the last few years John enjoyed the fellowship at Pembroke Ferry chapel. There was a large attendance at the funeral, which took place at Trinity chapel, Pembroke Dock, on February 27th. The service was conducted by Rev Anthony Gregory and the organ played by Mrs Christine Lloyd. A number of REME Association members joined the congregation and the REME Standard was carried by Mr Peter Smith. The bearers were Andrew (grandson), Christopher and Andrew (nephews), and John (son-in-law). Principal mourners were: Brenda (wife); Judith and Trevor (daughter and son-in-law); Gillian (daughter); Joanna (granddaughter); Mary and Jim (sister and brother-in-law); Marjorie (sister-in-law); Doug and David (brothers-in-law); Frank and Marie (brother-in-law and sister-in-law); Penelope, Adrian, Melvyn, Kaye and Hadyn (nieces and nephews). There were immediate family flowers only, with donations in lieu for the British Heart Foundation, which may be sent c/o John Roberts and Son, funeral directors, Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, SA72 6AN, who carried out the funeral arrangements.

MRS F. A. FRANCIS CRAWLEY The funeral of Frankie (ne Scarr), took place at St Mary's church, Newport, on February 23rd. Frankie, formerly of Newport, died aged 81. She was born in County Wexford and moved to Newport in 1942. She married in 1950 and moved to Barry, before moving to Crawley in 1963. She has been brought home to rest with her husband, Vic, in St Mary's churchyard. Various close family members attended the service including Kevin and Julie (son and daughter-in-law); Julie and Gerald (daughter and son-in-law); Gareth, Liam, Katie, Thomas and Rebecca (grandchildren); Tegan (great-granddaughter); Hennie and Hilda (sisters). The service was conducted by Rev Bob Jones with the reading by her brother-in-law Robin Evans, and the eulogy given by her son-in-law Gerald. There were family flowers only, with donations to the British Lung Foundation. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Jenkins and Phillips, of Fishguard.

MRS E. R. GRIFFITHS PEMBROKE DOCK The death occurred on February 19th, at Apley Lodge, Dimond Street, of Mrs Elsie R. Griffiths, formerly of Greenhill Road, Pennar, Pembroke Dock. She was 85. Elsie was a housewife and her main interests were the family, knitting and gardening. She was a member of Gilgal Baptist chapel, Pennar. The funeral took place on February 24th at Gilgal, followed by interment at Llanion Cemetery and was conducted by John Davies. Bearers were Robert and David Marshall (grandsons), Kevin Bowers and Jason Beynon (nephews). Principal mourners were: Betty and Bill Elliott, Sheila Beare, Valerie and Peter Marshall (daughters and sons-in-law); Susan and Paul Morgan, Julie and David Griffiths, Lynne and Simon Bourne (granddaughters and husbands); Robert and Shirley Marshall, Ian and Lesley Beare, David and Sarah Marshall (grandsons and wives); 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. There was family flowers only, with donations to Apley Lodge. The funeral arrangements were carried out by John Roberts and Son, funeral directors.

MRS C. BAGLEE Marloes The death occurred peacefully, on February 10th at Withybush Hospital, of Mrs Christine Baglee, of Collingwood Cottage, Marloes. She was 71. Mrs Baglee was born in Marloes, but travelled round the UK with her husband, Gerald Baglee, when he served in the Navy, finally returning to Marloes in 1973. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a popular figure in the village, enjoying all village activities. She was also a member of the Moriah Baptist chapel. Predeceased by her husband, Gerald, in 1996, family left to mourn are: Christopher and Lorraine (son and daughter-in-law); Alyson, Susanne and Graham (daughters and son); Lisa, Scott, Adam, Paul, Kirsty, Alice and Sarah (grandchildren); Harvey (great-grandson); David (brother). The funeral took place on February 16th at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, and was conducted by Rev A. Bartlett, Mr Pryce and Mr White. Principal mourners were: Christopher and Lorraine Baglee (son and daughter-in-law); Alyson Collett, Susanne Baglee and Graham Baglee (daughters and son); Lisa, Scott, Adam, Paul, Kirsty, Alice and Sarah (grandchildren); Harvey (great-grandson). A. JACKSON LETTERSTON The death occurred on February 21st at Withybush Hospital, of Mr William Arthur (Bill) Jackson, of 4 Hyfrydle, St Davids Road, Letterston. He was 81. Mr Jackson had been a patient at Withybush Hospital for three weeks. A native of Pontlottyn, Gwent, Bill moved to Letterston in 1951, and worked in the joiners' shop at RNAD Trecwn as a carpenter and joiner for 34 years before retiring in 1985. His main interest was his family. His hobbies were carving love spoons, plaques and making furniture, but due to a decline in health in his later years was unable to continue this craft. Bill also enjoyed going out on bus trips and in the car with Gwyn his brother-in-law around the coast of Pembrokeshire. In December 2005 Bill and Marina celebrated their 50th golden wedding anniversary. Bill was a very caring person who never moaned in all the years his health suffered. He was always cheerful and did not have a bad word for anyone. He was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Family left to mourn are: Marina Jackson (wife); Paul and Christine (son and partner); Barry and Linda (son and daughter-in-law); Anthony and Emma (grandchildren). The funeral took place on Monday, February 27th at St Giles church, St Davids Road, Letterston, followed by interment at St Giles churchyard. The officiating ministers were Rev Roger Griffiths and Rev Geoffrey Eynon. Bearers were Stephen Frost, Alan Bushall, Robert Morgan (ex-work colleagues), Brian Morgan, David James, David Williams (ex-neighbours, from Min-y-Llan). MRS O. ELLIOTT HAVERFORDWEST The death occurred on February 18th, after a short stay at Withybush Hospital, of Mrs Olga Elliott, of City Road, Haverfordwest. She was 91. Mrs Elliott was a native of Bridgend, and was a founder member of Haverfordwest Townswomen's Guild. She enjoyed craftwork, cooking and gardening, and being with her family. Predeceased by her husband, Dawson Elliott, Olga leaves to mourn: Vivienne (daughter) from Canada; Sandra and Lionel (daughter and son-in-law), Camrose; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral took place on February 24th at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, and was conducted by Canon C. Bowen. Principal mourners were: Vivienne (daughter); Sandra and Lionel (daughter and son-in-law); Jane and Johny, David and Annamarie, Lisa and Clarke, Paul and Jenny (grandchildren); Danielle, Steven, Lucy, Sean, Ciara, Maisy and Elise (great-grandchildren); Marion and Eric (sister and brother-in-law); nieces and nephews. MRS R. A. STILLMAN HAVERFORDWEST Mrs Rosemarie Ann Stillman, of 26 Merlins Crest, Haverfordwest, died on February 21st, after a short stay at ward ten, Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest. She was 63. Born in Robeston Wathen, Mrs Stillman moved to Haverfordwest at the age of five. She worked part-time as a children's escort at Gosport and Haverfordwest. Her main interest was machine knitting, and she was chairman of the Bridgemary Knitting Club, later joining Pembroke Dock Knitting Club. Rosemarie also devoted her time to her family. Family left to mourn are: Michael Stillman (husband); Paul and Jenny Stillman (son and daughter-in-law); Kay and Phillip (daughter and partner); Kirsty and Natalie Sapsford (granddaughters); Patrick, Poppy and Cameron Stillman (grandson and granddaughters); Maureen Palmer and Margaret Burke (sisters); Joan and Ron Palmer, David Stillman, Clive and Sandy Stillman, Mavis Stillman (sisters and brothers-in-law); and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. MISS E. A. I. WATTS MILFORD HAVEN The death occurred at Withybush Hospital, on February 27th of Miss Elsie A. I. Watts of Milford Haven, and formerly of Haverfordwest and Narberth. The funeral took place on Friday, March 3rd at Parc Gwyn Crematorium. Tom Newing and Sons Ltd, funeral directors, carried out the funeral arrangements.

Mr D. G. L. JAMES ST DAVIDS The funeral took place at the Tabernacle Congregational Methodist Chapel, St Davids on Tuesday February 21st, of Mr David George Leonard James, who died at home on Thursday February 16th. Len farmed at Clegyr Boia until 1988 before moving to St Davids. The service was conducted by John Evans who was assisted by Very Rev Dean Wyn Evans and Canon Jonathan Lean. The organist was Mrs Margaret Evans. The service was followed by a cremation at Parc Gwyn, and interment at St Davids cemetery. Principal mourners were Isobel (wife); Gwenda and Nick, Ann and Fintan, (daughters and sons-in-law); Brian and Tracey, (son and daughter-in-law); Alun (brother) and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Unable to attend were Ethel and Jill, (sisters-in-law); the bearers were George Croll, Bob Jones, Trevor Martin and Mick Rose. There were immediate family flowers only, with donations to St Davids surgery c/o Lloyds TSB. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Bernard Mathias.
