what do you want to see at the cinema this week? What helps you to decide? Well, as recommendations go, four Baftas, a best director Oscar and a hotly-tipped young star isn't a bad one.

Although it lost out to Crash in this year's best picture Oscar, last month's Bafta film awards were dominated by Brokeback Mountain, Ang Lee's bold, daring and heartbreaking love story about a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy in '60s Wyoming.

Australian actor Heath Ledger stars alongside Gyllenhaal.

The characters meet in the summer of 1963 while driving cattle on a mountain range. They unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one whose complications, joys and tragedies provide a testament to the endurance and power of love.

Brokeback Mountain was the overwhelming favourite to pick up the best picture gong on Sunday, but it was pipped to the post by Crash in a shock result, leaving the ceremony with only a consolation best director award for Ang Lee.

It had fared better at last month's Bafta, picking up the gongs for best film and best adapted screenplay; best director in Lee and supporting actor in rising star Jake Gyllenhaul.

Where can I see it? Brokeback Mountain is at the Palace Cinema, Haverfordwest, this week.
