Four fishermen were winched off cliffs at Lydstep Head late on Saturday night.

Three local men in their 20s and one teenager had scrambled down the cliffs at 7pm to go fishing.

When they decided to leave shortly before 11pm one of the men became concerned about the height and the climb back up.

They called the coastguards, who arrived on the scene and assessed the situation.

It was decided to task RAF 169 rescue helicopter to the incident because of the terrain and the wet and dark conditions.

The four men were then airlifted to safety.
