A pregnant mother from Pembroke Dock says she and her two-year-old son have been left homeless' by My Home is My Castle.

Caroline Cashman, of 47 Gwther Street, had signed a contract with the company for the demolition and rebuilding of an extension to her home.

But she says that overnight the company changed its mind saying it wanted to alter the contract and draw up a new one.

"It wasn't anything like the old one," she said.

"When I spoke to one of the company's suppliers I was told they had pulled out."

The next thing Mrs Cashman knew was that the company was going to go into liquidation.

Nearly seven months pregnant, she found herself with a demolished extension and no kitchen or bathroom.

Mrs Chapman's husband is in the Forces, serving in Leominster, and now she and her son Eli are staying with her parents in Queen Street.

"We have paid the company some money but luckily it wasn't a massive amount because it was an extension and not a first build.

"But I'm nearly seven months pregnant and I have been left homeless because I now have no kitchen or bathroom.

"The foundations had been dug and then just left, so we had to arrange our own concrete to put in the trenches, otherwise they would have collapsed," she said.

Mrs Cashman has had to get in other builders for a quote and she is waiting to see if any are available to start soon.

"But whatever happens the extension won't be ready before the baby is born, or even before Christmas," she said.

Speaking on behalf of My Home is my Castle, Mr Kai Graf von der Pahlen, admitted that a number of clients of the company had been left with work half done.

"Most of our projects were still in the process of planning and paperwork.

"But we will try to help some clients finish their houses because we feel responsible."
