A PEMBROKESHIRE travel agent has been hailed as one of the top UK performers by a leading long-haul holiday company.

Ocky White Travel has been awarded the prize of a familiarisation visit to Sri Lanka and the Maldives for one lucky member of staff.

It was given by Kuoni to the best-performing travel agents within the Advantage Travel Centres consortium. Ocky White Travel, a member of the consortium, is the only specialist Kuoni agent in south Wales.

“It’s a fantastic achievement for Ocky White Travel to win a prize like this,” said managing director Mark White, who recently re-located the business to new premises in Bridge Street, Haverfordwest following the closure of the town’s Ocky White department store.

The visit has been taken up by office manager Anna Reed, to crown an exciting few weeks in which she has visited the luxury cruise ship, Crystal Serenity, and spent a day aboard the iconic Orient Express.

Explained Mark: “Anna was a guest of Kirker Holidays, one of our favourite small tour operators, who specialise in creating city breaks and short breaks for that special occasion.

“Anna was able enjoy the delicious food and bygone ambience of this world-famous train, and for anyone thinking of travelling on board the Orient Express, Anna has a super array of photos to show and tales to tell.”

Another staff member, Kevin Wentworth, has achieved the qualification of Aussie Specialist. This is an official course run by Tourism Australia and highly-regarded within the travel trade.

Said Mark: “Having visited Australia eight times, Kevin has the expertise and experience to put together either complex Australia itineraries or straightforward flights to the main cities.”
