PRESELI Pembrokeshire MP Stephen Crabb has enjoyed a visit to a Fishguard supplier of high quality stoves which is due to double its workforce over the next year.

Last year, businessman Mark Davies teamed up with Richard Mason, formerly a managing director at moneysupermarket.com, to set up Warm Nation, which sells woodburning and multi-fuel stoves to customers in the UK and overseas.

Just one year on, the business is expanding steadily. Warm Nation currently employees seven members of staff, two of which came to the company through the Welsh Government’s Jobs Growth Wales scheme, both of which Mark and Richard plan to keep on after their placement finishes.

This year they are looking to create nine new jobs, a welcome boost to the county’s job market.

Warm Nation has also benefited from UK Government funding for the Superfast Broadband project.

High speed broadband access has enabled Mark and Richard to develop a thriving internet business through which they sell to customers worldwide.

The company are due to start manufacturing their own parts in-house and are one of growing number of Pembrokeshire businesses bringing manufacturing back to the UK.

Speaking from the showroom, Stephen said: “This fantastic Fishguard business is the economic recovery in action - a small, local business creating new, full-time and skilled jobs, providing training and using the internet to put Pembrokeshire business on the map.”
