A SEASIDE hotel’s double win in the recent 102.5 Radio Pembrokeshire Business Awards is a blooming great reward for its owners, Malcolm Brace and Pat Jenkins.

The business partners have taken Tenby’s Giltar Hotel from strength to strength since they made the step from employees to owners five years ago.

In that time, the Giltar has collected numerous accolades, including three Wales in Bloom titles, with the Radio Pembrokeshire awards sitting high up there with them as they were voted for by local people.

The hotel won the categories for both Food and Drink and Leisure and Tourism, after being short listed by a panel of business experts.

The judges commented: “The hotel has changed dramatically and is now a shining example of an elegant seaside hotel, with some of the best views in Tenby.”

Since 2009, the hotel on Tenby’s Esplanade has had a makeover of its dining room and restaurant area, as well as a major bedroom transformation project, with the aim of achieving the prestigious 4* Visit Wales status. Its latest development is the cosy new Cwtch bar, with views across to Caldey Island.

“Winning these awards recognises the significant journey which Patrick and I have taken since purchasing the hotel,” said Malcolm. “We feel very proud to share our success with all of our staff, supporters and - most importantly - customers - who come back to Tenby year on year to enjoy the beauty of Pembrokeshire, with a big thank-you to all our local suppliers who have helped us to get where we are."
