EMERGENCY services were called to the scene of a car crash near Bluestone resort on Tuesday evening.

A male, understood to be the driver, was trapped in a car on the A4075 between Canaston Bridge roundabout and the Bluestone roundabout.

Traffic was diverted by police at both ends, and fire service and ambulance crew were called to assist.

The road was closed for more than two hours as they worked to help the casualty.

Drivers were advised to take an alternative route through Narberth or Templeton during this closure.

It re-opened at 8.30pm.

A police spokesman said: "Dyfed-Powys Police responded to a report of a damage only road traffic collision on the A4075 near Canaston Bridge at around 6.40pm on Tuesday, November 14.

"The vehicle had rolled and required recovery.

"Fire, ambulance and council also attended the scene.

"The male driver of the silver Mercedes A170 was trapped but managed to remove himself from the car.

"He'd suffered minor cuts and bruises and was conveyed to hospital for examination."

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman, said: "We were called at approximately 6.40pm on Tuesday evening to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the Bluestone roundabout on the A4075 near Canaston Wood.

"We sent a crew in an emergency ambulance and a man was taken to Withybush General Hospital in Haverfordwest."

An update on the casualty's condition is not currently available.
