HAVERFORDWEST heralded in the festive season tonight as the town turned on its Christmas lights at the Riverside shopping centre.
The town mayor, Cllr Alan Buckfield, did the honour of switching on the lights at 6pm, following on from an afternoon of fun and music at the shopping centre.
He thanked the town council for funding the Christmas lights, and Radio Pembrokeshire for hosting the event.
Stalls serving hot food helped the hundreds gather to stay warm on the cold and drizzly evening, and spirits were lifted by the children’s rides and free face painting.
From 4pm Radio Pembrokeshire presented a series of short gigs by musicians from the county town and beyond.
Following the lights switch on at 6pm, fireworks lit the sky above Haverfordwest Castle, starting the Christmas season off with a bang.
