HAVERFORDWEST Creamery is celebrating after bringing three prestigious cheese awards back to west Wales.

The creamery, owned by First Milk and in line for a £6.5million investment boost, has been named among the winners at the annual Royal Highland Show in Scotland, standing out from the crowd as hundreds of dairy products were judged at the show.

Haverfordwest Creamery’s Extra Mature Cheddar was crowned Reserve Champion at the show, one of the highest honours available. The same cheese was also awarded Best Non-Scottish Cheese in Show and won Gold in the Extra Mature Cheddar category.

First Milk CEO, Shelagh Hancock, said: “To come away with these coveted awards, against tough competition, demonstrates the exceptional quality of cheese we are making at our Haverfordwest Creamery, and wining the Reserve Champion award in particular, is a fantastic achievement.”
