THE UK's only major grassland event this year is being held in Pembrokeshire – and it's expected to draw interest from all over the country.

As part of its year as feature county 2019 leading up to the Royal Welsh's 100th show in July, the Royal Welsh Grassland Event 2019 will be held at Cardeeth Farm, Carew, on June 6.

With 100 acres put aside for demonstration machinery there will be plenty of opportunity for grassland farmers to see machinery in action. It will provide a fantastic showcasing opportunity for purveyors of grassland machinery and associated technologies.

Ten dealerships will bring all types of grassland harvesting machinery to the show and there will be 90 agricultural trade stands on the 180-acre site.

Current concerns over slurry spreading and pollution will mean special attention being paid to the different companies offering muck spreading demos.

In addition there will be plots showing more than 40 different grass varieties along with technical seminars with a number of expert speakers.

Facilities will of course include catering and a bar and the excellent site has been provided by Hugh James and David James of Langdon Mill Farm.

There will be live equipment demonstration opportunities:

In the field – silaging

In the field – slurry

In the clamp

Tickets will grant access to the main site as well as transport to and from the clamp. For groups of over 10, please select the 'Group ticket' option at royalwelshgrasslandevent.com/
