THERE was relief for farmers in west Wales as business returned to Whitland mart under strict conditions after a three-week break during the Covid-19 crisis.

The first store sale took place on April 18 with dairy sales also restarting yesterday (Tuesday).

Auctioneers J J Morris said: "Due to the compliance and cooperation of vendors and purchasers in recent sales held under strict Covid-19 distancing rules the decision has been made to recommence sales for dairy and breeding stock under the same strict conditions."

Crymych Mart for cull sheep and store lambs will also return on Wednesday, May 6.

Buyers must register if they wish to be at the sales.

Vendors are also asked to enter forward so that buyers can be informed of numbers.

Animals must be dropped at the loading bays and paperwork handed to staff member.

Only buyers allowed at ringside with limited spaces due to distancing regulations.

Full guidelines and more information are available on the the JJ Morris Facebook page.
