PEMBROKE Dock’s Pater Hall Community Trust is looking for some volunteers to fill two important committee positions in order that they can continue the work of maintaining and running the Hall at the heart of Pembroke Dock. The posts of treasurer and also secretary are urgently needed as Ian Jones is stepping down from those positions which he currently holds jointly.

These two posts are vital to the Trust’s continuation and anyone who believes that community work of this kind is important and thinks they may be able to make a contribution is asked to give these roles serious consideration.

Trustee, and town councillor, Phil Gwyther said: “The hall currently hosts nearly 600 people each week with a variety of groups ranging from dance classes for toddlers to those in their sixties, singing groups, a range of activities for the older residents, WI, National Health Surgeries, blood donations, Town Team meetings, town council meetings, Slimming World, kiddies’ parties, quiz nights, beer festivals, sports events, job fairs, fetes, coffee mornings and much more.

“Most people consider these sorts of clubs and activities to be the heart and soul of any community and if you feel you might like to be a part of that, please do think seriously about putting yourself forward.”

If you would like to know more about what is required, please get in touch with the chair of the Trust, Don Esmond on 01646 684338, or call in to the hall between 10 and midday Monday-Friday.
