RNLI volunteers helped rescue a dog that had fallen off cliffs near Abereiddi on Thursday.

On March (30) at 6.57pm St Davids RNLI inshore lifeboat, with its volunteer crew were tasked to Traeth Llyn just north of Abereiddi bay, following a request from UK Coastguards to a dog over the cliff.

Also, dispatched to this incident were coastguard teams from St Davids and Fishguard.

Once on scene the lifeboat located the dog some 30 to 40ft down the cliff.

The dog had been head butted over the cliff by a sheep.

After setting up their equipment one of the coastguard team, abseiled down the cliff to recover the dog, while being monitored by the lifeboat.

Once the the coastguard and dog were safely on the cliff path, the lifeboat returned to station arriving back at 9.21pm.
