A HAVERFORDWEST couple took to the streets of Cardiff with thousands of runners late last year to raise funds for the Paul Sartori Foundation.

Lisa Wells and partner Mark Davies completed the 13.1 mile route of the Cardiff Half Marathon in October last year, raising £675 for the charity.

Lisa and Mark decided to run the half marathon in memory of Lisa’s aunty, Kay who passed away on March 25 of last year.

Lisa said: “The Paul Sartori Foundation helped care for my auntie in her later stages of her battle with cancer. They were very caring and supportive for my uncle during this difficult time. After losing my mum when I was just 18 years old, I understood how difficult the circumstances were and I felt that the organisation couldn't have done anymore to help.”

Sandra Dade, charity manager for the Paul Sartori Foundation, said: “We are always very grateful to individuals for fundraising on our behalf and are grateful to Lisa and Mark for choosing to raise money for the Paul Sartori Foundation,” adding: “Without such great fundraising efforts we would not be able to provide support and advice to individuals at the end of their life.”

Fundraising efforts, including concerts and events are crucial to the Paul Sartori Foundation.
