Fancy dress brought extra fun to the waterway when Lawrenny Yacht Club staged its annual River Carnival under blue skies and sunshine recently.
Nearly 70 boats made their way to Cresswell Quay from Lawrenny, as well as from further down the Haven.
Many of the Lawrenny craft and crews were in fancy dress, with a good turn-out of pirates, representatives from the World Cup and even a World War II aircraft afloat.
Prizes were kindly sponsored by the Cresselly Arms.
The ‘river police’ in full uniform added to the fun of the occasion, fooling a number of people with their spoof parking and penalty tickets.
There were also many people who arrived at ‘the Quay’ by car to enjoy the spectacle of all the boats arriving as soon as the tide was right.A barbeque was put on by the yacht club, while a trio of musicians played and sang to the crowd.
