AN ancient bridleway has re-opened offering a picturesque circular walk and ride in Cold Blow, Narberth.

Pembrokeshire County Councillor Elwyn Morse - who is the local Member - was among those who gathered on Thursday evening to help inaugurate the right of way along the fringes of Clements Dale Wood and around into Twill Lane.

The old route – which has some diversions from the previous one – re-opened following work organised and supervised by the county council’s countryside team.

They instructed council contractors, Pathfinders, run by Nigel Owen from Llanychaer, to bridge a stream, lay gravel on boggy areas and erect bridleway gates.

Said one local resident, Melanie Kelly, who joined the local community and members of the British Horse Society at the opening: “I’m over the moon that this link is open, I can now walk through the woods with my children giving them an opportunity to experience nature right on their doorstep.”
