WORKING in the great outdoors and making use of the learning opportunities from the natural environment is a great way of enhancing learning and engaging pupils at Pembroke Dock Community School.

The school recently saw all classes take part in National Outdoor Classroom Day, with teachers planning enriched outdoor experiences for the pupils.

From making homemade marshmallows and toasting them, to a trip to the park and East Williamston Nature Reserve, as well as orienteering in the school grounds, the pupils were learning in a fun and practical way.

Miss Lewis, leader of learning for the outdoors reflected on a successful day: "It was fantastic to see every single class making use of all the outdoor spaces throughout the day. To see so many pupils engaged and on task in a range of enriching experiences made the day extremely successful and worthwhile.”
