MR WILFRED George Hart of Augustine Way, Haverfordwest passed away peacefully on Christmas Day aged 95.

Wilfred was born in Portfield, one of six children. He had two brothers, Billy and Cyril and three sisters, Molly, Doris and his younger sister Cynthia.

On his 18th birthday in 1940, he enlisted in the RAF and trained as a wireless operator and rear gunner. He joined the Pathfinders and then Bomber Command where he flew on many bombing missions. On his final mission, his plane was shot down and he was captured and spent the rest of the war in a Prison of War Camp in Germany.

After returning home he got a job in the County Offices, Haverfordwest.

He married Amy Freed in 1951 and they spent nearly 60 happy years together.

He enjoyed playing whist in the Services Club and was a member of the RAOB for many years.

The family left to mourn are Lynn (daughter); Tim and Sue (son and daughter-in-law); Liz and Les (daughter and son-in-law); Ceri, Laura, Francesca and Alice (grand-daughters); Beth (great grand-daughter); Jayne, Graham and David (niece and nephews).

The bearers at Parc Gwyn were members of the RAOB who also provided a Guard of Honour.

The funeral was officiated by Father Liam Bradley and a tribute was given by Mr Malcolm Hawkins of the RAOB.

Mr R McDonald

Milford Haven

THE funeral of Robert (Bobby) McDonald took place on January 11 at the Chapel of Rest followed by a short service at the crematorium, attended by his family and many friends.

Bobby passed away on Christmas Day at Glangwili Hospital, he had been ill for some time. He was 72 years old.

Bobby was born and lived all his life in Milford Haven. He married Marjorie in 1971 and they lived all their married life in Robert Street.

He worked as a painter for local firms, lastly for Pembrokeshire County Council. He was a founder member of Pembrokeshire Model Engineering Club which he enjoyed for the last 30 years.

The family left to mourn are Marjorie (wife); cousins Anne Mayhew and David Cressey and families; Trevor and Gill Thomas, David and Mary Bowker, Jim and Anne Deveney (brothers and sisters-in-law) and many friends.

The service was officiated by Father Harri and funeral arrangements were by Tom Newing and Son, of Milford Haven.

Mr D C Dutton

Pembroke Dock

MR DAVID Colin Dutton formerly of Gwyther Street, Pembroke Dock passed away suddenly at home in Tremeyrick Street, Pembroke Dock on January 5 at the age of 26.

At the age of 16, David started working as a casual employee at Pembroke Leisure Centre, then he went on to work full time and onward. This was his only job. He was also a fully qualified swimming teacher, football coach, life guard and receptionist. He had also, in the past couple of years, taken up the role of Duty Officer, but had recently decided to take a step back from this role to concentrate on his love of teaching swimming and football to children.

As a child David attended Albion Square Infants and Junior School, Pembroke Dock Community School (Blue School) and Pembroke Comprehensive School (Bush).

He was a keen sportsman in junior school taking part in swimming galas in both year 5 & 6. He swam for Pembroke and District Swimming Club, he also played badminton up to county level.

Apart from his love for his work David enjoyed both playing football, his first team Neyland and then Pembroke Borough, and travelling to and supporting at home and away his beloved 'Swans' (Swansea City), including games in Romania, Sweden and Spain.

He played poker, enjoyed go-karting, and had taken part in Half Ironman events, his last individual event being in Weymouth, and also a team event in Mumbles.

He enjoyed spending time with his mates, both at home and lads trips away.

The principal mourners and family left to mourn are Zillah and Colin Dutton (parents); Gary Dutton (brother); Shaun and Amy Taylor (brother and sister-in-law); Scott Taylor and Dean (brother and partner); Courtney (girlfriend); Tina Bowden (auntie); Gary Pratt, Lee Evans, Josh Reed-Harrison and Darren Bowen (best friends and work colleagues) and numerous other friends, work colleagues, parents and their children.

The funeral was held on January 25 at St Johns Church, Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, then Parc Gwyn, Narberth.

The bearers were Gary Dutton, Shaun Taylor, Scott Taylor, Gary Pratt, Lee Evans, Josh Reed-Harrison and Darren Bowen.

Donations to John Roberts and Sons, Just Giving page in Memory of David (Dave) Dutton! and various charity events being arranged by his close friends. Any money raised will be split between Children In Need, Pembroke Leisure Centre, to purchase new equipment in David's name and one other charity yet to be decided.

Mr M Bevan

Letterston

MALCOM passed away peacefully in Park House Court Nursing Home, Tenby on December 26 2017. He was 81.

He was born in Camrose and worked on various construction sites including Milford and Pembroke oil refineries. He loved playing darts and represented Pembrokeshire. Malcom enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was predeceased by Howard and Eirlys (brother and sister-in-law), Audrey (sister-in-law) and David (brother-in-law).

The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Eirwen (wife), Robert and Sally (son and daughter-in-law), Fiona and Martin (daughter and son-in-law), Samantha, Jake, Sion and Harry (grandchildren), Brenda and Lilian (sisters), Ronald and Maureen (brother and sister-in-law), Joyce and Randell, Janet, Glenys and Dennis, Myra and Cyril (sisters-in-law and husbands), Gerwyn and Cathy (brother-in-law and wife) as well as many nephews and nieces.

The funeral service was held on January 10 at the Chapel of Rest, Feidr Castell followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn, Narberth. Both services were officiated by Rev Geoffrey Eynon.

The bearers were Gareth Richards, Dai Richards, Bryn Howells and Cyril Reynolds.

Milford Haven

MR LUIGI ‘Lui’ Pini of Conway Drive, Steynton sadly passed away in the early hours on December 17 at Withybush Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was 84.

Lui was born in Bardi, Northern Italy and came to Milford Haven at 17 to work in the Rabaiotti family business with his uncle and cousins. He was well known for managing the Ice Cream Factory in Strafford Road.

Lui was a kind hearted gentleman with a great sense of humour who brought a smile to many faces in the local community. Although in later years he lost his sight due to glaucoma, he remained very positive and continued to enjoy his Friday nights out at the Seafarers club.

The family left to mourn are his children Jonathan, Liza, Remo and Adriana, and their mother Marilyn. Grandchildren Jack, Ellie, Nico, Ellie, Luca and Logan; John (son-in-law); Su and Tracy (daughters-in-law); brother Remo (France); brother-in-law John (Italy) and nephew Francesco and family; cousins Lidia Steinvoort and family, Tina, Tonia, Anthony, Dean and families; Roy (brother-in-law); Michael and Kay (brother and sister-in-laws); Rachel and Jane (nieces).

The funeral service was held at St Francis RC Church followed by a cremation at Parc Gwyn and was officiated by Father Paul Osunyikanmi.

ON JANUARY 25 the funeral of Theresa Mary Wusthoff née Jones took place.

Theresa was born in Riverside Hospital, The Green, Pembroke. She was the eldest child of Elwyn and Bet Jones. She spent the first year of her life at 112 Main Street, Pembroke, where her parents lived with her maternal grandparents, Edwin and Mary Thomas. She then moved with her parents to South Terrace, Monkton.

She attended Monkton Infants School and then Monkton Junior School, where she passed her 11plus. After attending Pembroke Grammar School she became a student nurse at Haverfordwest County Hospital.

In 1973 she married and made her home in Camrose, Haverfordwest. She gave up nursing in 1974 when her son Mark was born. In 1978 she began working in Tesco Haverfordwest, and stayed there for almost 40 years, until the time of her death.

She moved to Merlins Bridge in 1997, and then finally to Neyland in 2002.

The funeral was held at Parc Gwyn, and the service was led by Reverend Martyn Evans.

The principal mourners were Mark, Rachel, Kieran and Callum (son, daughter-in-law and grandsons); Gareth and Helen (brother and partner); Iris, Glyn, Chelsea and David (former sister-in-law, nephew and wife, and nephew) together with many family members, friends and colleagues too numerous to mention.

The bearers were Mark Wusthoff, Gareth Jones, Glyn and David Jones, Kieran and Callum Wusthoff.

Tributes were given by son Mark and brother Gareth.
