THERE was victory for both sides of the argument in the Pembrokeshire YFC Welsh language debating competition when two teams emerged as joint winners.

After an evening of fierce debate at Narberth CP School, nothing could separate the senior teams from Eglwyswrw and Fishguard, who were named joint winners, with Llysyfran YFC in third.

Joy Cornock, of Fishguard YFC was named best individual speaker.

On the same night, the junior members put their speaking skills to the test and it was Eglwyswrw’s B team who went home with the winners’ trophy.

The team also saw Sara Watkins named best speaker and Emily Lloyd best chairman, with the award for best proposer of the vote of thanks going to Mared Harries, of Llysyfran YFC.
