J. J. Morris reports: Another busy market once again, with all sections meeting a brisk trade. Store cattle prices look to be improving and the barren cow section was one of the most buoyant trades his year. Calves again sold well. The sheep section saw a furious trade throughout.

February 17th BJP reports: A small entry of store cattle (65) but a great trade. Top prices of £1,115 and £910 for Limousin steers from Evans, Trefadog, St Davids.

Top prices steers: Limousin (14 months) £700; Simmental (21 months) £700; Friesian (17 months) £540.

Heifers: Charolais (17 months) £645, £595; Hereford (21 months) £590; Limousin (16 months) £520.

A small entry of cows and calves sold to a maximum of £1,070, with older cows and calves to £870, £860, £770.

Cull cows (18): Top price was £935 for a 710kg Limousin from Williams, Letterston. Maximum price per kilo 132p, average 101p, maximum price per head £597. Calves (31): Excellent trade with a Limousin bull selling to £230. Other top prices: £228, £225, (Limousin); £114 (Angus); £98, £72, (Friesian).
