Carmarthen’s Dai Jones recorded a landmark victory at the Llandeilo Farmers point-to-point meeting when he notched up his 200th winner.

The milestone for 45-year-old Dai came in a dead heat in the men’s open when judge Martin Griffiths was unable to split Dai and Cannon Bridge from Rhys Hughes on Overlut.

There was another close decision in the older horse maiden. Treasured Coin, ridden by Jodie Hughes, came home a head in front of Shalati Princess and Dean Coleman to see Jodie comfortably holding a long lead in the area ladies championship.

John Mathias, of Manorbier is leading the male title race and in the first confined race drove Dai Rees’ Kisha King home. Kisha King is leading the area horse championship, with Chestnut Annie leading the champion ladies’ horse title after another emphatic win in the ladies’ open.

Shuil An Burran came home by ten lengths in the restricted race and Manormouse made a winning racecourse debut in the non-rules maiden, trained by Beverley Thomas, of Boulston, Haverfordwest. The six-year-old gelding was confidently ridden by Kyle Yates to win with two lengths to spare.
