Pembrokeshire’s sharp shooter Ben Llewellin was in terrific form to win the gold in the men's skeet final at the Oceania and Commonwealth Shooting Federations' Championships in Brisbane, Australia.
The 22-year-old, from Rudbaxton, Haverfordwest, headed to the tournament following his silver medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup Final, where he had equalled the world record, before agonisingly losing a shoot-off.
Llewellin, the Wales hot shot would continue his excellent form at the revamped Belmont Shooting Complex, hitting 59 targets in the final.
It proved more than enough to clinch the Commonwealth title, with England's Jack Fairclough ending as the runner-up on 51.
The podium was rounded off by Australia's Paul Adams, who was eliminated having achieved 43 hits.
Adams was able to celebrate victory in the final of the Oceania event, managing to score 54 hits.
His team-mate Keith Ferguson and New Zealand's Michael Wilson secured the remaining medals, ending with 53 and 41 hits respectively.
It comes as the complex prepares to be used for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games next April.
