WRU Women's League Division One:

Ynysbwl 17

Haverfordwest 33

Haverfordwest Ladies got back to winning ways as they scored five tries against a physical and abrasive Ynysybwl team.

The Blues started well with the excellent Awen Prysor opening the scoring after 10 minutes, quickly followed by another try from Jess Charles after a well worked backline move.

Debutant fly half Holly Couzens, recently transferred from Whitland, coverted one of them, and duly grew in confidence as the game wore on.

Ynysybwl pulled back the deficit with a try from a typical forward rumble, but away scrum half Rhian Swift scored a great solo try, converted by Couzens, to make it 19-5 at half time.

The second half followed a similar pattern with The Blues playing open rugby, whilst the home side made inroads from their forward drives.

The Blues managed another try by Prysor, converted by Couzens, who then scored herself after a length of the pitch effort.

Ynysybwl managed to reduce the deficit with two more tries - but The Blues held out for a bonus point win on the road.

Their next game is on Sunday, December 3, against table toppers Senghenydd.
