Women’s Premiership:
Pontyclun Falcons 38
Whitland Ladies 10

THE Borderettes made the tough trip to play Pontyclun Falcons on Sunday, missing a number of key players due to injury and international duty.

The Falcons raced into a 19-0 lead with Rebecca Fairbairn and prolific winger Rafiuke Taylor (2) scoring tries, and Brogan Jones added two conversions.

Whitland struck back though with a try from flanker Amy Morgan.

The second half followed the same pattern as the home side crossed for three more tries through Heather Rees, Jess Pritchard, and Jones, who also added another two conversions.

But to their credit The Borderettes kept going, and No 10 Mari Griffiths won the race to a loose ball to score and ensure the visitors at least had the final word.

Whitland's next league game is at home to Caernarfon on February 25.
