Pembrokeshire KO Cup Semi Final:

Pembroke Dock Harlequins 0-46 Pembroke

Pembroke RFC will take on Aberystwyth at St Davids in the final of the Pembrokeshire Knock Out Cup after dispatching neighbours Pembroke Dock Harlequins in the semi at Bierspool, running in eight tries without response against a home outfit that could only muster 15 players and as a result there were uncontested scrums from the outset.

A big crowd turned out to see The Scarlets take a ten-point lead into the interval as The Quins tackled like demons and had possession of their own as skipper Tom Doyle led by example and there were nice cameos throughout by teenagers Jordan Palmer, Aaron Coombs, Hywel Baker, Jack Davies and John Brown.

But the pressure built up around the Quins and The Scarlets claimed lots more points in a good second half as they also included youngsters of the calibre of Tom Lewis, Fraser James, Luke Hartland and Iori Roberts.

Pembroke took the lead with a forward-orientated move where hooker Seamus Wiseman was impelled over the line from a well-controlled driving lineout - and then outstanding winger Elliott Evans was released by Toby Smith and sped to touch down.

Evans added his second try from a typical solo break which Toby Smith converted - and then the winger created the space for centre Dan Colley to score a try which Hartland goaled to make it 24-0.

As Pembroke continued to dominate up front they added a further seven points from a try by Cyle Weatherall which Hartland converted before replacement No 10 Roberts sped through from the 22 metre line.

As the game entered its final stages there were further tries from Dom Colman, who crashed over in the left corner before Barry Alderman-John rounded off the scoring after multiple phases.

It means that The Scarlets now travel to St Davids on 23rd May looking for another final appearance where they have the chance to upset the odds against Aberystwyth if they can play to the top of their form.
