Pembroke County Cricket Club Division One: Haverfordwest (96-3) beat Neyland (93 all out)

There are new leaders at the top of Division One after an inspired bowling spell from Adam James led Haverfordwest to a seven wicket win over Neyland.

James took 4-23 in his 12 overs as The Town shot their rivals out for just 93, and then eased past the total with seven wickets in hand.

It meant a third straight league defeat for Neyland, while Cresselly's loss in Lawrenny puts Danny Potter's men 17 points clear of the latter at the midway stage of the season.

At The Racecourse, Neyland never truly recovered from losing the toss and falling to 15-3, with James trapping Paul Murray LBW before having Patrick Bellerby caught by Jake Merry.

Johnny White also clean bowled Gregg Miller for a golden duck, and then after Nick Koomen and Nathan Banner had briefly restored order by taking things to 35-3, the youngster had the latter caught by skipper Danny Potter.

James clean bowled Koomen (16) soon after and would later do the same to Andrew Miller to complete his four wicket haul, while the visitors were left indebted to a patient knock of 16 from 40 balls by Scott Jones, and 12 not out from captain Sean Hannon at No 10, to take them up to 93.

But alongside James and White (2-23), Simon Holliday (2-16) and Kieran O'Connor (2-10) helped clean up the innings in 39.3 overs.

And The Town's run chase was never in doubt after Holliday and Ben Field put on 59 for the first wicket, before Field was caught behind by Hannon off Andrew Miller, having hit five fours and a six in his 39.

Lee Summons (1) was skittled by the same bowler, and Hannon came out from behind the stumps to have Dai Davies (7) caught by Paul Murray - but Holliday played a steady knock by his prolific standards, making 39 not out off 90 balls (five fours and a six).

He was joined by Potter (9 not out) in finishing off matters as The Town took charge of the title race.
