Pembroke County Cricket Club Division 1: Kilgetty (123-9) drew with Cresselly (209-5)

Kilgetty veteran Ian Poole survived the final ball of the game to deny Cresselly maximum points but Neilson Cole's side will still lead the battle for the title on the final day.

They racked up more than 200 in a match reduced to 30 overs per side and then had the home team nine wickets down after a frantic finish.

Dan Sutton provided the fireworks with 104 not out, hitting 11 fours and two sixes as his side scored at almost seven an over.

Alex Bayley was next top scorer with a quickfire 34, while Ryan Lewis (14), Iwan Izzard (16), and Simon Cole (20) also hit double figures.

Ross Hardy (1-50), Kurtis Marsh (2-48), Christian Phillips (1-32) and Richard Gwyther (1-18) were the Kilgetty wicket takers.

Kilgetty never looked like chasing the total down but with one over left, they fell to 123-8 despite starts for Kyle Marsh (38), Toby Poole (27), Daf Bevan (24) and Phillips (18).

Dan James took a wicket from the penultimate ball and then Poole survived a last gasp LBW shout, leaving The Doves to settle for 29 points.

For the visitors, Sam Harts (2-28), Dan James (2-23), Ryan Lewis (3-26) and Simon Cole (1-41) had wickets.

It means 25 points or more against Lawrenny on Saturday will seal the title for Cresselly, but any kind if slip up could let in the winners of neyland and Haverfordwest.

Kilgetty meanwhile, have work to do to survive, 17 points ahead of Burton and the drop zone.

Ross Hardy's men need a result at Whitland to avoid any panic, otherwise they are reliant on St Ishmaels overcoming their relegation rivals.
