National Bowl Round 2:
Llangadog 0
It was comfortable for Haverfordwest as they ran in nine tries to hammer Llangadog and move into round 3 of the National Bowl.
The Blues played with way too much pace and intensity for their visitors and moved into an early 17-0 lead as winger Josh Atherton, prop Jonathan Clout and flanker Jack Clancy all crossed, with No 10 Craig Barnett adding a conversion.
The one way traffic continued as Atherton grabbed his second and centre Dan Richards and winger Ollie Hughes also touched down, Barnett adding the extras twice more for a 36-0 half time lead.
Richards cut over for another try shortly after the break and then full back Rhys Baker got in on the act, Barnett converting both scores before flanker Matty Phillips rounded off the rout with a late try.
It means the Blues will remain in the hat for the third round draw this week, but there were other pleasing factors for head coach Steve Barnett with youngster Clout named man of the match, while another good prospect in second row Josh Youngs came on for his first team debut.
Haverfordwest: Rhys Baker, Ollie Hughes, Gareth Owens, Dan Richards, Josh Atherton, Craig Barnett, Lee Summons, Jonathan Clout, Matthew Clayton, Terry Lovell, Adam Clark, Karl Busch, Jack Clancy Matty Phillips, Matthew Clark. Replacements: Josh Young, Jamie Zambass, Liam Mainwaring, Mike Jones.
