Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division 1: Merlins Bridge 4-3 Hakin United

Joe Leahy grabbed a late winner for Merlins Bridge as they completed a thrilling late fightback against Hakin United at The Racecourse.

The Vikings deservedly led 2-0 at the break, as ten minutes in Ryan Wilson capitalised on a rebound after Gary Thomas had made a smart save.

Five minutes before the interval and Justin Harding swept home Shane Walsh’s cross from the right to put Kristan Bennett's team in the driving seat.

But Nathan Greene scored twice shortly after the break to level matters, the striker headed home the first and then tapped in after James Manson failed to gather cleanly.

On the 80 minute mark though, Adam John struck a wicked low shot that flew in the bottom corner from 20 yards – and that third goal looked as if it would be enough for the visitors to pinch the points.

But the Wizards worked their magic with a terrific late fightback, equalising two minutes later when Laurie Haworth struck with a neat far post finish.

And in the 85th minute, Leahy headed into the top corner from six yards to secure a dramatic victory for the Bridge over their arch rivals.

The Wizards remain unbeaten, four points off leaders Goodwick but with two games in hand.
