WRU Woman’s Premiership: Gwernyfed 7-44 Whitland Ladies 

It is now three wins from three for Whitland Ladies as they continued their superb start to the season at Gwernyfed on Sunday.

The Borderettes only led 10-0 after a tough first 40 minutes, as Amy Morgan went over for two tries.

But in the second half the visitors cut loose with six more tries,
Natalie Walsh, Jenny Hawkins, Nicole Davies ad Rafiuke Taylor added further tries after the break, with Rachel Norris converting one of them.

Gwernyfed got on the board with a try, but Whitland finished strongly with Hawkins going over two more times for her hat trick, with Norris adding another conversion.

It was one of three wins on the day for the club, with the Under 18s beating Seven Sisters 65-12, and the Under 15s winning 48-24 against the same opponents.

The Borderettes host Pontyclun next Sunday, and will again be without their internationals with Wales Women playing South Africa on Saturday, 11.30am kick off at Cardiff Arms Park.

  • It was a hard day in Division One for Haverfordwest Ladies, who could only raise 12 players for their home match with Bonymaen. The Lady Blues battled bravely but went down 53-0, and will now want some key players back for Sunday’s difficult away game at Burry Port.
