Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division 1: Monkton Swifts 5-2 Neyland

MONKTON Swifts continued their momentum with a convincing victory over Neyland at Monkton Lane.

Joe Lewis’ Swifts are second in the table, two points behind leaders Goodwick United with a game in hand.

The Swifts led 4-0 at the break, they added another in the second period before the Nomads struck two late consolation goals.

Jimmy Russell drilled in from 12 yards for the opener on 12 minutes.

Ryan Griffiths slotted in the second and also then also finished clinically for the the third.
And on the stroke of half time, Thomas Powell scored the fourth with a far post tap-in.

On the hour mark, Blake James made no mistake for the Swifts’ fifth.

Neyland did respond in the final quarter though, and Olly Hughes struck from 12 yards before Mike Chandler added a second with a precise left foot finish.
