Stroud and District Division 1: Phoenix A were well beaten at home by Woodchester B, Clive Ellison and Nick Collins each scored maximums as the visitors won 9-1.

The points were shared between the two sides in the division one basement places, hosts Cirencester, drew five all against Phoenix B for whom Liwu Wei was unbeaten and finished as man-of-the-match. Dave Hadley scored a maximum for Phoenix C and led his young side to an 8-2 victory at Forest Green A, a score which puts them in contention at the top of the division. A weakened Woodchester A entertained Thornbury A and with Dave Reeves returning a maximum for the visitors helped his side to a 7-3 away win.

Division 2: Randwick B suffered a 2-8 defeat at home to Forest Green B with the visitor’s duo, John Pobjoy and Jimmy Haycraft, each scoring maximums.

The two-players of Phoenix D played well and were pleased to secure a five-all draw against the visiting Cam & Dursley A but they couldn’t beat the visitor’s George Thomas.

William Snell produced a captain’s innings as he led Randwick A to a 7-3 home win against Nailsworth A. Thornbury B produced a strong performance thanks to a maximum from Mark Attwood which gave them an 8-2 victory over the visiting Whiteshill A.

Division 3: Phoenix E entertained Cam & Dursley B and with the visitors Brian McNeill scoring a maximum it was the visitors who left with a 6-4 win.

Tony Poole scored a maximum for Woodchester D which inspired them to an 8-2 victory over the visiting Phoenix F. A below strength Phoenix G lost 3-7 at home to Thornbury C with both Graham Eden and Len Pattison winning all their singles matches.

Division 4: Cam & Dursley C were well beaten at home to Nailsworth B with the visitors Dave Watson and Tim Fogarty going unbeaten, final score 2-8.

Thornbury D were narrowly beaten at home to Phoenix H 4-6 with the visitors Jim Davis producing a man of the match performance. Forest Green C were whitewashed at home by Randwick D, the unbeaten trio were Ralph Perry, Alun Davies and John Smee.
